Internet forum for all things fencing related in the UK. Can be the focus of highly entertaining and heated discussions on occasion. Many members of the higher levels of fencing administration in the UK are on here as well as a few members of ACFC. Look here if you want up-to-date news on anything fencing related—particularly competition results. You will need to register to participate. |

Neat website with explanations of fencing terms for beginners and those that are the hard of remembering. |

Buying Equipment A mistake often made by beginners looking to buy their first kit is to buy their own versions of what they have been using at the club. It is better to seek advice from the club coaches but in general people should be thinking in terms of electric fencing. I would suggest you buy things in this order if you’re on a budget: 350 Newton (N) plastron (we recommend an 800N plastron), 350N breeches, electric weapon, 350N mask, 350N glove, 350N jacket. This kit will enable you to fence in any British open. BFA safety guidelines are here. |
